Margarita Cherenkova
is one of the brightest saxophonists of her generation. Her ability to
charm the audience with her innate musicality and energy does not leave any listener indifferent.
Already at the age of 9 she has started playing the piano. At the age of 16, she discovered the saxophone for herself, which meant so much
to her that two years later she took up her jazz saxophone studies at the Jazz College in Nizhny Novgorod. After 3 years of studying, she felt more attracted to classical music.
Already during her student years, Margarita has founded the first female saxophonquartet of Russia "Capriccio". Appearances followed in the Rostropovich Philharmonic in Nizhny Novgorod, in the Kremlin from Moscow, in the chapel of the city of St. Petersburg and the Philharmony of the city of Kirov in sold-out concert halls up to 1,500 visitors. There was also a regular live show played for the Russian State television (Pervy channel, as well as Russia 1).
Since 2018 Margarita has graduated from the University of Münster with a Bachelor of Music (Music and Creativity), which she successfully finished in 2022 under the Magdalena Lapaj-Jagow. From 2018-2019 she studied in the class of Asya Fateyeva. Since 2018 she has been a solo saxophonist at the Bläserphilharmonie Osnabrück, since in 2019, she will be supporting the Hamburger Symphony orchestra as a "temporary solo saxophonist» in the Laeiszhalle and in the Elbphilharmonie.
In 2023, she made her debut at the Berlin Philharmonic.
Since then she has also been artistic director of the aStella-Trio from Münster and the Duo ConBrio and writes their own arrangements.
